Dr. Melanie Carlone, DPT, MSPT, RYT
As a Physical Therapist, Melanie has been around the world, literally and figuratively. Her unique healing perspective is particularly needed at this time of great uncertainty and change. If you are having pain, Melanie’s 30+ year practice pulls together integrated approaches gathered world-wide: working as a US Navy PT in a major military hospital; sitting on the executive committee of NuraHealth extending best-practices in integrative medicine; inspiring better health and resilience through permaculture programs in Malawi, one of Africa’s most disadvantaged countries; establishing a three-year rehab program for orphans in Romania; creating food opportunity in the Peace Corp in Zaire; supporting AIDS orphans living in Botswana; founding Piti Suksa, a Montessori school while living in northern Thailand; incorporating a huge variety of alternative healing modalities such as fascial bodywork, yoga therapy, mindfulness and anxiety-quieting movement meditation, biophysical pain reduction, reiki and much more.
Combining years of diverse healthcare experience with a B.S. in psychology, a masters degree and a doctorate in clinical physical therapy and years of study in health promotion programming, eastern philosophies, yoga and meditation, she is uniquely positioned to inspire change in the physical, emotional, and social determinants that influence overall wellness.
